Most buyers open a machinery conversation with a price and work backwards from there. The buyers who end up with lines still running eight years later do it the other way around: they open with a spec sheet, read it line by line, and let the numbers decide who they talk to. Design speed, stable production speed, weight deviation, qualification rate, footprint, installed capacity, ambient temperature range. Seven lines of technical data tell you more about a machine than a catalogue of adjectives ever will.
This is a walk through that sheet, using the four full-servo platforms built by Baoding Gerun Industry and Trade Co., Ltd. since 1996 — so you know exactly what each number means before you commit a hall, a power drop and a shift roster to it.
Design speed is not production speed
The first thing to separate on any hygiene line datasheet is the mechanical ceiling from the number you actually bank. Design speed is what the frame, the servo axes and the web tension control can survive. Stable production speed is what your operators can hold, shift after shift, without babysitting the machine.
Look at the GR-CLK450-SF4 Full-Servo Adult Pull-Up Diaper Production Line: design speed 315 m/min, stable production speed 300–350 pieces per minute in large size. That gap is honest. A supplier quoting a single headline figure with no stable range is telling you what the machine did once, on a good afternoon, with the engineer standing next to it.
The GR-JQK450-SF4 Full-Servo Menstrual Pant Production Line runs the same 315 m/min design speed and the same 300–350 pcs/min stable window, on a 47 m × 9 m × 5 m frame at roughly 98 tonnes. Menstrual pants and adult pull-ups share the same closed-loop, elasticised construction logic, which is why these two platforms sit at the top of the range — and why they have been Gerun's strongest products for years.
Weight deviation is a material cost line, not a footnote
Every one of the four platforms holds product weight deviation at ±5%, with a product qualification rate of ≥97%. Read those two numbers as money.
SAP is the most expensive component in an absorbent core. A line that drifts on core weight throws away margin on every shift — you over-dose to stay safe, or you under-dose and ship leak complaints. A ±5% band lets you run closer to target, and a 97% qualification rate tells you how much scrap leaves the building as waste instead of product. On a line pushing 350 pieces a minute, one percentage point of yield is a very large number of diapers per month.
All four platforms use the same core chemistry: an absorbent core of SAP mixed with fluff pulp. The GR-CK300-SF Full-Servo Adult Diaper Production Line layers that with a cotton core featuring a convex structure in the middle, formed through double-drum secondary compounding — a build aimed at shape retention and fit under load rather than raw output, which is why it settles at 200–250 pcs/min in large size.
Four platforms, four different jobs
Adult pull-up diapers — GR-CLK450-SF4. Three sizes, M / L / XL. Design speed 315 m/min, stable 300–350 pcs/min in large. 380V 50Hz, installed capacity approximately 468 kW including the glue machine, total weight about 90 tonnes, installation footprint 42 m × 9 m × 5 m excluding the packaging machine.
Menstrual pants — GR-JQK450-SF4. Three sizes, M / L / XL. Same 315 m/min design speed and 300–350 pcs/min stable window. Approximately 480 kW installed, about 98 tonnes, 47 m × 9 m × 5 m.
Adult diapers — GR-CK300-SF. Three sizes, M / L / XL. Design speed 300 m/min, stable 200–250 pcs/min in large. Approximately 450 kW, about 90 tonnes, 37 m × 9 m × 5.5 m.
Nursing underpads — GR-CD350-SF. Design speed 360 m/min — the fastest design speed in the range, because underpads are a simpler laminate. Stable output 280–320 pcs/min on a 900 mm product. This one is the flexible one: product length 600–1500 mm and width 450–800 mm, which covers everything from a standard bed pad to a long, wide institutional format. Approximately 270 kW, about 58 tonnes, 30 m × 6.5 m × 3.7 m.
The two lines nobody reads until commissioning day
Working environment: 15°C to 40°C. That range is printed on every sheet and ignored on most purchase orders. If your plant sits in a tropical hall without climate control, or a cold-climate warehouse where the winter floor drops below 15°C, you have a commissioning problem before the first roll is spliced. Plan the hall, not just the machine.
Footprint. A 47 m line needs 47 m of clear floor plus infeed, outfeed, packaging and fork access — and 9 m of width means crane or forklift access down the side. Buyers who measure the machine and forget the material flow end up relocating a 98-tonne frame. Draw the hall layout first, choose the platform second.
What a 1996 start date and a 2010 first actually means
Gerun was founded in 1996 and has spent the decades since on disposable hygiene care equipment only. In 2010 the company developed and manufactured the first domestic adult pull-up diaper production line — the platform that later became the CLK series. Years of iteration on that design are why the current generation holds servo-driven tension control across the web path and why pull-ups and menstrual pants remain the company's strengths rather than a sideline.
For a distributor or a private-label converter, the practical read is this: the manufacturer has already made the mistakes on its own dime, on its own strongest platform, over multiple machine generations. That is a different risk profile from a supplier who added adult hygiene lines to a catalogue last year.
Where these four platforms fit
Aging-population markets with growing institutional care demand — nursing homes, hospital procurement, home care distribution — need adult diapers and underpads in volume, and underpads are usually the entry SKU because the machine is smaller, cheaper to power and flexible on format. Private-label brands chasing the feminine and light-incontinence segment go straight for menstrual pants and pull-ups, where the CLK450 and JQK450 platforms give them three sizes and a mature elasticised construction without the learning curve. Regional converters buying their second or third line use the same platforms to add capacity on a proven footprint instead of re-engineering their process.
Gerun's stated position is customer-first, honesty-based operation, attention to individual market requirements, and one-stop service with technical support — installation, commissioning, operator training and spare parts continuity handled by the same team that built the machine. The company's own line is that the machine is not always purchased, but the service can be long term without end. Treat that as the actual product and the spec sheet as the proof of it.
Talk to the people who build it
Send us your target product, your sizes, your hall dimensions and your available power, and we will tell you which of the four platforms fits — or whether none of them do. That answer is free and it is usually the most useful thing you get from a machinery supplier.
